Exploring computing through experimentation.

KRONOS is Bauglab LLC's independent experimental computing research initiative. Bauglab also focuses on software engineering and AI technology for practical business solutions.

Research focus

KRONOS and experimental computing

KRONOS examines computational efficiency, with attention to memory-system performance and AI workload optimization. Its execution-aware computing concept studies how a workload's execution behavior interacts with processor, memory, and software conditions.

The initiative also includes the EOMA and K-DWU research concepts. Their specific expansions and implementation details are not asserted here. Controlled benchmarking and prototype exploration can help examine these questions by defining workloads and measures, recording system conditions, and comparing observations under consistent settings.

System benchmarking

Benchmarking compares how systems handle a defined workload. A meaningful comparison records the hardware, software versions, settings, and workload so readers can understand the conditions behind a measurement. Repeating runs can help distinguish stable behavior from run-to-run variation.

Memory performance

Memory behavior can affect how quickly a workload moves and reuses data. Relevant considerations include capacity, access patterns, latency, and bandwidth. Looking at these factors alongside the workload can help identify whether performance is limited by data movement, computation, or another part of the system.

Research methodology

A careful evaluation defines a question, selects a representative workload, records the test environment, and chooses metrics before comparing alternatives. Results should include enough context to be interpreted and repeated. These are methodological principles for the work, not a claim that a particular study or result has been completed.

AI and optimization

AI model optimization can involve examining model behavior, resource use, and the trade-offs between performance and output quality. The useful approach depends on the model, hardware, and application constraints, so conclusions should remain tied to the conditions tested.

Research grounded in practical questions

The focus is on experimentation, evaluation, and potential real-world applications.
